Several forgiving peaks on a sandy beach — great for all levels, including first-timers.
Devil's Rock, just below the camp in the Aourir-Tamraght area, is a wide sandy beach break with several peaks. Its forgiving layout makes it one of the friendliest waves on the coast for learning.
Despite the dramatic name, Devil's Rock is a gentle, welcoming wave. It is a beach break with multiple sandy peaks, which means surfers spread out and everyone gets waves. The peaks offer both lefts and rights, and the whitewater is soft enough for complete beginners to practise standing up.
Because it is a beach break, Devil's Rock works on a wide range of swells and tides and is surfable more or less year-round. It is a favourite for beginner lessons and for intermediates wanting an easy, fun session. It is only minutes from the camp, so it is often our first call of the day.
“Pick a peak away from the crowd — Devil's Rock is wide enough that you rarely need to share.”
