A mellow sandy beach break — soft whitewater for first lessons, green walls further out.
Crocro is a sandy beach break a couple of minutes from the camp, and it is where many of our guests have their very first surf lesson. Mellow, sandy and close to home — the perfect classroom.
Crocro breaks over a sandy bottom and offers exactly what a learner needs: gentle, rolling whitewater near the shore for practising pop-ups, and softer green waves further out for the first proper rides. There is no reef to worry about and the beach is wide and easy to access.
It works through most of the year on a range of swells, with low-to-mid tide usually cleanest. While it is primarily a beginner spot, intermediates enjoy it on a punchier day too. Being so close to the camp makes Crocro our default choice for relaxed morning lessons.
“Start in the whitewater to nail your pop-up, then paddle a little further out for your first unbroken wave.”
