A consistent beach break that works when the rest of the coast is flat.
Tamri is the coast's swell magnet. This exposed beach break north of Taghazout picks up more swell than almost anywhere nearby — when everywhere else is flat, Tamri is often still working.
Tamri breaks over sand along an open stretch of beach near the village of the same name. Its exposure to the open Atlantic means it catches even small, distant swells, producing punchy, roomy peaks. The lefts and rights shift with the sandbanks, so each visit is a little different.
Because it is so consistent, Tamri is a valuable backup spot — our coaches head here when the points and sheltered breaks have not woken up. It suits beginners on a small day and intermediates when there is more size and punch. Low-to-mid tide is usually best, and it can work year-round.
“Tamri can get punchy fast — if it is bigger than head-high, treat it as an intermediate-plus session.”
