The wave factory — picks up the most swell on the coast and works when everywhere else is flat.
Anza, on the northern edge of Agadir, is known as the wave factory. Its exposed setup catches more swell than just about anywhere on this stretch of coast — if there is surf to be found, Anza usually has it.
Anza is a mixed reef-and-beach setup. The reef section offers a rippable right-hander for more confident surfers, while the sandy sections beside it produce friendlier beach-break peaks. The reef tends to favour low-to-mid tide. Its big draw is consistency: Anza works on small W-SW swells that leave the rest of the coast flat.
That reliability makes Anza a useful spot for intermediates wanting a session when the forecast is quiet, and the beach sections work for improvers too. It sits a little further south than our local breaks, with an industrial backdrop that is all part of its honest, no-frills character.
“When the surf report looks hopeless everywhere, check Anza first — it is the most likely spot still working.”
