Dar Swell Is Opening a Coworking Space in Tamraght

There is a familiar problem behind the dream of working remotely beside the Atlantic: the view may be beautiful, but your laptop still needs a place where real work can happen.

That is why Dar Swell is preparing a new coworking space in Tamraght, with an opening planned from November 2026. The idea brings together three parts of the house: a place to focus, a traditional Moroccan salon and a rooftop with an open view towards the ocean.

Dar Swell is our sister surf camp in Tamraght. The house is still being prepared, so this is a first announcement rather than a list of finished specifications. Here is what we can confirm now, what the space is meant to feel like and which practical details remote workers should wait for before planning a stay around it.

A coworking space shaped around the house

The Dar Swell coworking area is not being imagined as a generic office dropped into a surf town. It belongs inside a Moroccan house, where work, conversation and rest happen in different corners rather than under one row of fluorescent lights.

The Moroccan salon is part of that idea. It gives the space a warmer, more relaxed character and offers somewhere to read, plan, talk or move away from a formal desk setup. The design concept uses low seating, natural timber, woven rugs, warm clay colours and Amazigh-inspired textiles. The image accompanying this article is a concept visual, not a photograph of the completed room.

The rooftop changes the atmosphere again. Its ocean view gives you somewhere to step away from the screen, look across Tamraght and reset between blocks of work. We love the view, but we also know that a view alone does not make a coworking space useful. Connectivity, power, shade, call etiquette and comfortable working positions matter too. We will publish those final details once the setup has been completed and tested.

What is confirmed for November 2026?

These are the details we can share today:

The exact first day remains to be confirmed. So do opening hours, internet specifications, pass prices, access for people who are not staying at Dar Swell and whether particular packages include coworking. We would rather publish tested information than turn plans into promises too early.

You can follow the official Dar Swell website for opening updates. If your travel dates depend on using the workspace, wait for written confirmation before making a non-refundable booking.

Why Tamraght works for a surf-and-work stay

A digital-nomad stay in Tamraght is not about pretending every day will contain a perfect dawn surf, eight productive hours and a sunset yoga session. The useful version is simpler: build a realistic work routine, stay close to the coast and surf when conditions, daylight and your calendar genuinely line up.

Working with European teams can be practical from Tamraght, but the clock relationship depends on the dates. Morocco returned to GMT in September 2026. From 25 October 2026, a normal UK workday uses the same local hours in Tamraght, while France, Germany, the Netherlands and mainland Spain are one hour ahead. Our current Tamraght time-zone guide explains the conversion and why older Morocco remote-work articles may now be wrong.

The ocean will not follow your meeting calendar. Swell, wind, tide, daylight and ability all affect whether a session is sensible. The local coast has breaks with different characteristics, but that does not mean every spot suits every surfer on every day. Use the Nomad surf-spot guide for orientation and ask local coaches where your level fits the conditions.

What the Moroccan salon adds

A productive room does not have to feel clinical. The Moroccan salon is intended to give the coworking space a second rhythm: focused work when you need it, then a softer place for reading, informal conversations or a break away from your main position.

It also reflects the house rather than copying a coworking template from another city. Low seating and shared space are part of Moroccan home life. At Dar Swell, the goal is to keep that sense of welcome while making the room useful for people who arrive with deadlines as well as surfboards.

That balance needs clear boundaries. A lounge conversation should not become the soundtrack to somebody else's client call, and a person working quietly should not control the whole room. The final operating setup will explain where calls belong and how the different areas can be shared respectfully.

What remote workers should confirm before booking

If your income depends on being online, do not choose a work stay from photographs alone. Before booking around the new space, ask for the current answers to these questions:

  1. What is the tested download and upload speed?
  2. Is there a backup connection or mobile-data plan if the main line fails?
  3. Where can you take a video call without disturbing other people?
  4. Which seats have reliable power access and comfortable working height?
  5. Is the rooftop shaded and suitable for laptop use at the time you plan to work?
  6. What are the opening hours and quiet-work periods?
  7. Is access included with a Dar Swell stay, or sold as a separate pass?
  8. Can outside visitors book the space, and what will it cost?

We are sharing this checklist because these are the details that turn an attractive room into a dependable work environment. Dar Swell will confirm them as the space is finished and tested.

A realistic day at Dar Swell

The best schedule will depend on your job and the ocean, but the house is being designed to make transitions easier. You might work a concentrated morning block, pause on the rooftop, finish your meetings and then check whether there is time for a suitable surf. On another day, work may take priority and the ocean view may simply be the background to a full laptop day.

The Moroccan salon gives you a place to slow down after the screen closes. The rooftop offers air and perspective. The camp and the coast provide the surf context. None of those replaces a reliable professional setup; together, they are meant to make remote work feel less separated from the place where you are staying.

We are building this space for people who need to finish real work without giving up the reason they came to the Moroccan coast. The rooftop view and Moroccan salon give it character; the final practical setup will determine how well it works day to day.
