We are happy to share some good news: Nomad Surf Camp is taking part in Taghazout Surf Expo 2026.
The event returns to Anchor Point from 22 to 25 October 2026, bringing the surf community together beside one of Morocco's best-known waves. For us, it is a chance to represent Tamraght, meet travellers and surf professionals, and take part in conversations about the future of surfing on our coast.
If you are staying with us, travelling through the Agadir–Taghazout area or simply curious about Moroccan surf culture, here is what to know before you visit.
What is Taghazout Surf Expo 2026?
Taghazout Surf Expo is a four-day gathering for the people and projects that shape the surf world. The temporary expo village at Anchor Point brings together surf schools, surf camps, shapers, equipment and surfwear brands, travel specialists, associations, researchers and community initiatives.
It is both a professional meeting place and a public event. According to the official programme, visitors can explore the exhibition area, listen to public talks, watch live board shaping, join community and well-being activities, and enjoy concerts and DJ sets. The 2026 edition also includes professional workshops and networking sessions for people working in the surf ecosystem.
Entry is free and the event is open to the public. Dates, access information and programme details can change, so check the official Taghazout Surf Expo practical-information page before setting out.
Why Nomad Surf Camp is participating
Nomad is a family-run surf camp based in Tamraght. Our work happens in the water, at the dinner table, in the surf van and throughout the villages that make this coastline feel like home. Participating in the expo gives us a chance to bring that everyday experience into a wider conversation.
We are joining because the event connects several parts of surfing that should not be separated:
- Local surf culture: the people, knowledge and hospitality behind a week on this coast.
- Coaching and progression: helping beginners and experienced surfers choose sessions that match their ability.
- Travel and community: creating stays that introduce guests to Tamraght beyond the beach.
- The future of the coastline: listening to discussions about surf tourism, safety, local opportunity and environmental responsibility.
We also want to meet people face to face. Websites can explain packages and room choices, but a real conversation is often the best way to understand what someone wants from a Morocco surf trip.
What you can experience at the expo
The official event programme is broader than a row of trade stands. It is designed for surfers, families, local residents, industry professionals and visitors who may never have stood on a board.
Surf equipment and live shaping
Board builders and equipment brands will be part of the exhibition village. The live shaping programme offers a close look at how a surfboard moves from foam to a finished shape, including the decisions behind rails, outline and hydrodynamics.
Talks, workshops and professional meetings
The scientific and professional programme brings together researchers, institutions and people working in surf destinations. Public talks cover topics connected to the ocean and coastal communities, while dedicated professional sessions create space for workshops, exchanges and networking.
Music, movement and community activities
The public programme includes live music, DJ sets, morning movement sessions, a community space and beach clean-ups. The organisers describe the expo as family-friendly, with activities for children and non-surfers as well as committed wave riders.
Because programme timings may be updated, use the official Taghazout Surf Expo website as the final reference for the day you plan to attend.
How to plan your visit to Anchor Point
The expo village is at Anchor Point, north of Taghazout village. Official practical information says admission is free, a visitor parking area is planned near the site, and public shuttle buses will connect Anza Corniche with Anchor Point during the event. The organisers also describe the walk from Taghazout village as approximately 1.7 kilometres along the coast.
A few practical choices will make the day easier:
- check the live programme before leaving, especially if you want to attend a particular talk or concert;
- use the public shuttle, car-share or walk from Taghazout when practical;
- bring sun protection, water and a warmer layer for the evening;
- wear shoes suitable for uneven coastal ground;
- leave extra time around popular sessions and weekend periods.
If you are flying in, Agadir Al Massira Airport is the most direct airport for this coast. Our Agadir Airport to Tamraght guide explains the main arrival options.
Turn the expo into a surf trip
Late October also sits at the beginning of Morocco's more active surf season. That does not guarantee a particular wave at Anchor Point, but it makes the expo a natural reason to combine community time with days in the water.
Tamraght is a practical base south of Taghazout, with access to beach breaks, reefs and points along the coast. A coached stay removes the need to choose a spot alone each morning: the group can move according to swell, wind, tide and ability.
Our weekly packages include accommodation, coaching, equipment, surf transport, breakfast and dinner on six days, plus Agadir Airport transfers and activities away from the water. See the current details on the Nomad surf-packages page. If you want to understand the house and atmosphere first, visit our surf-camp page.
Come and meet Nomad
We are looking forward to joining Taghazout Surf Expo 2026 and spending four days with the people who make this coast special. Come and say hello, tell us where you surf, ask us about Tamraght or talk through your first trip to Morocco.
We will share more details about our exact on-site presence closer to the event. In the meantime, save 22–25 October 2026, follow the official programme for updates, and contact the Nomad team if you want to combine the expo with a surf stay.
