Hidden Surf Spots in Morocco for Advanced Surfers
Looking for real waves away from the crowds? Morocco has some wild, hidden surf spots that only advanced surfers can handle. These are not beginner-friendly — just raw, powerful surf in quiet places.
Doura (Rabat’s Hidden Reef)
On the edge of Rabat, Doura is a quiet reef break with heavy, fast waves. It’s shallow and packs a punch — great for winter swells. Not many people surf here, so it’s perfect for those who want space and challenge.
Safi – The Barrel Factory
Safi is known for long, heavy barrels. It’s one of the best right-handers in Morocco. The wave breaks over a point and gives expert surfers fast, powerful rides. Best in winter when the swell is strong.
Mirleft – Cliffs and Clean Lines
Mirleft is a small village in the south. It has peaceful beaches and point breaks that fire on big swells. Some spots here offer long walls and clean tubes. The vibe is quiet and raw.
Sidi Ifni – Long Rights and Retro Vibes
This old coastal town has a relaxed feel and a great right-hand point. The wave runs along a rocky section and works well with winter swells. You’ll surf beside fishing boats and wide beaches.
Lassarga (Dakhla) – Endless Lefts
At the edge of the Sahara, Lassarga offers a super long left that wraps around the sand. It’s clean, fast, and works best in winter. Ride it for hundreds of meters with dunes behind you.
