How much does a surf camp in Morocco cost? (2026 prices)

A standard one-week surf camp in Morocco in 2026 costs between €450 and €900. This mid-range price generally covers seven nights of accommodation, daily surf coaching, board and wetsuit hire, three daily meals, and Agadir airport transfers. Budget options run around €350, while premium packages exceed €1,200 per week.

What you actually get for your money

When you start researching surf camps in the Agadir region, you will see a wide spread in pricing. It helps to understand exactly what a standard, mid-range camp package includes so you do not get caught out by hidden add-ons once you arrive in Tamraght.

What you actually get for your money

For most mid-tier camps, the daily routine is highly structured. We usually pack the vans right after breakfast, loading up foamies, fiberglass funboards, and wetsuits to head out by 9:30 AM. Depending on the wind and swell direction, we might drive five minutes down the road to Devil's Rock or Crocros, or head ten minutes north past Taghazout to find cleaner waves at beach breaks like K17 or point breaks like Banana Point.

A typical €650-per-week package includes the following essentials:

If you opt for a budget camp in the €350 range, you are usually sacrificing private space and meals. You will likely sleep in an eight-bed dorm, and you may have to buy your own lunches and dinners at the local cafes in Tamraght, which can add €10 to €15 per day to your actual spend.

Hidden costs that are not in the package price

Even the most inclusive camps do not cover every single detail of your travel. To plan your 2026 budget accurately, you need to factor in transport, extra food, and insurance.

Flights are your biggest variable. If you fly directly into Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA), you are only a 45-minute drive from Tamraght. Most mid-range camps include free airport transfers if you stay at least a week. However, if you find a cheap budget flight into Marrakech (RAK), you will need to pay for a CTM bus ticket for about €13, plus a taxi from the bus station, or book a private taxi directly from Marrakech airport to our camp for around €100 each way.

Then there is the daily pocket money. While water and tea are usually free at the camp, you will probably want to stop for an espresso at a beachside cafe or grab a fresh orange juice after a long session at Panorama beach. These small expenses are cheap—a coffee is about €1.50 and a juice is €2—but they add up over a week. We suggest keeping around €100 in Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) on hand for these daily extras.

"A lot of beginners think they need to bring a performance shortboard to look the part. Unless you are paddling out at Anchor Point on a six-foot NW swell, a high-volume 7'2" mid-length or a soft-top will get you triple the waves on the crumbly rights at Banana Point." — Coach Yassine

How the season affects the price

The price of surf camps stays relatively stable throughout the year, but the value you get changes depending on when you book. Morocco has two distinct surf seasons, and each appeals to a different type of traveler.

Winter, from October to March, is our high season. This is when massive groundswells hit the coast, turning points like Anchor Point, Killer Point, and Boilers into long, peeling right-handers. The water is cooler, sitting between 16°C and 18°C, which means you will want a reliable 3/2mm wetsuit. Because demand is high during these months, flights are more expensive and camps book out weeks in advance. If you are an intermediate surfer wanting to test yourself on point breaks, this is the time to spend the money.

Summer, from May to September, is the low season. The swells are smaller, and the afternoon trade winds can make the point breaks messy. However, the water is warmer, often reaching 21°C, and the beach breaks like Crocros and Devil's Rock still have consistent, waist-high waves that are perfect for beginners. Flight prices drop significantly during these months, and some camps offer discounts or extra activities like yoga to fill their rooms.

People also ask

Do I need to bring my own surfboard to Morocco?

No, you do not need to bring your own board unless you are an advanced surfer with specific performance needs. Most camps provide a wide range of soft-tops, funboards, and hard shortboards. Skipping the board bag saves you about €100 in airline luggage fees each way.

Is Tamraght quieter than Taghazout?

Tamraght is significantly quieter and has a more relaxed, residential feel than Taghazout. While Taghazout has more nightlife and busy streets, Tamraght offers a slower pace, traditional cafes, and easier walking access to beginner-friendly surf spots like Devil's Rock.

What thickness wetsuit do I need for surfing in Morocco?

A 3/2mm wetsuit is ideal for most of the year. During the coldest winter months of January and February, when the water temperature drops to around 16°C, some surfers prefer a 4/3mm wetsuit to stay warm during long morning sessions.

When planning your budget for 2026, the best approach is to decide what kind of accommodation you need to feel rested after spending four hours in the water. If you are comfortable sharing a room and exploring local cafes on your own, a budget camp will save you money. If you want to focus entirely on your surfing without worrying about logistics, a mid-range package covers all the details so you can just show up and paddle out.
